How to take a screenshot of the whole desktop
Press ⌘, Shift and 3 together to take a screenshot. It will be saved straight to your desktop, from where you can edit it in image-editing software, attach it to an email or paste it into a document.

How to take a screenshot of just one window
Press ⌘, Shift and 4 together. The cursor will turn into a ‘+’. Press spacebar and the cursor will turn into a camera. Next, click on the window you want a screengrab of and it will be saved to your desktop.
How to take a screenshot of part of the screen
Press ⌘, Shift and 4 together. The cursor will turn into a ‘+’ which you can use to drag a box around the area you want to grab. Once you've got the selection right, release the mouse button, and the screenshot will be saved to your desktop.
