With so many iPad and iPhone models out there, it can be confusing to remember which Apple iPhone or iPad you have. You may need this information in case you need to update your iPad or iPhone or see if it can run the latest apps.
Luckily your iPhone or iPad can tell you its model information in just a few taps. Just follow these simple steps:
Find out your iPad or iPhone model
Open up the Settings app on your iPad or iPhone. Then tap General, followed by About. On this screen there will be lots of technical information about your device – you want to find the code next to Model.
This code looks like gibberish, but if you type it in to a search engine it will tell you which model it is – for example MKQQ2B/A is the iPhone 6s.
Alternatively you can look on the back of your device. In very, very small writing will be a model code – a letter followed by four numbers.
You can now match the number on the back of your device to one of the models on the list. For example if you see ‘Model A1538’, then you have an iPad mini 4.
