Removing an app from Windows 10 isn't exactly the same as uninstalling a traditional Windows 10 desktop program. You can remove, disable or uninstall Windows 10 apps via one of two options, explained below.
If you need to uninstall a full program instead of an app, read our guide to how to uninstall programs from Windows 10.
Uninstall a Windows 10 app via the Start menu
To remove an app from your PC, click Start > All apps to view the list of apps on your PC in the Start menu (bottom-left).
Scroll to the app you want to remove. Right-click it and select Uninstall > Uninstall.
View all the apps on your Windows 10 PC
Alternatively, click Start > Settings > System > Apps & features. Here, you’ll see an alphabetical list of all the software installed on your PC.
You can use the dropdown option to re-order the list by size (to work out which ones are taking up the most space) or by installation date.
To remove an app from your PC, click it, then click Uninstall > Uninstall.
Apps you can't remove
Windows 10 comes with a selection of core apps that can’t be uninstalled using the methods outlined on this page. These include Microsoft apps such as Edge, Mail, Photos and Groove Music.
While it's frustrating to have these stuck on your computer, you're best off leaving them alone. There are some third-party app managers that can force them off your PC, but these can create extra problems and stability issues.
