To add a person to your Skype Contacts, you must send them a contact request. In turn, you too may receive requests from other Skype users.
Search Skype address book
When you first start Skype, you can click Search address book to add anyone in your address book who has a Skype account already.
If they’re not in your address book, click the Contacts menu, then click Add Contact > Search Skype Directory. Type in the name or email address of the person you want to add, and then select the name of your contact from the list that appears.
Click Add to Contacts to send a contact request. If they approve the request, they’ll be added to your Contacts.
Receiving Skype Contact requests
Requests you receive will appear as a notification above the Contacts tab. Click to open the notification and then Accept or Decline the person.
