Q - Whenever I try and type any amendments to text documents, I find that the letters are being deleted forwards, so I have to re-type the whole document.
Solution: click Insert
It’s annoying, and not to mention confusing when you type amendments only to see the next letter disappear, but the good news is it’s really easy to fix.
Simply tap the Insert button on the keyboard and this will return it to just amending the letter you want.
The problem was caused by you accidentally tapping the Insert key in the first place. The Insert key is mostly used to switch between the two main modes of entering text on a computer, Overstrike Mode and Insert Mode.
Overstrike Mode is where the cursor, when typing, overwrites any text that is present on and after its current location. Insert mode is where the cursor inserts characters at its current position between two other characters.
Yours looks to be set to Overstrike mode and it’s very easy to change it from Insert Mode just by tapping the button, even accidentally.
