Microsoft says that ‘some apps need to access your account info to work as intended’. In most cases, this simply means allowing apps permission to use your account name, your account picture and other information about you in order to provide a personalised Windows experience.
How do you control it?
It isn’t common for apps to seek access to your account information, but you can go to Start > Settings > Privacy > Account info and check to see if there are any apps listed here.
If so, you can use the switches to enable or prevent each app from accessing your account information, as required. Or, if you’d rather not allow any apps to access this data, use the main switch at the top (under Let apps access my name, picture and other account info) to turn this feature off.
