Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 7 in January 2020. If you're wondering if you can upgrade your old computer to Windows 10, we've got the information you need about the system requirements
Not all PCs will meet Windows 10’s system requirements. If your PC can't match the specs below, or if you're worried that there isn't much leeway, you could be better off buying a whole new PC than attempting to upgrade to Windows 10.
For 32-bit PCs, Windows 10 needs:
- A processor of at least 1GHz
- At least 1GB of Ram
- At least 16GB of hard drive space.
For 64-bit PCs, Windows 10 needs:
- A processor of at least 1GHz
- At least 2GB of Ram
- At least 32GB of hard drive space.
To find out if your PC runs a 32-bit or 64-bit operating system, plus to confirm its other specs, check the System Properties window following the advice below.
